DescriptionThe term ‘the best’ is somewhat of a loaded statement, as it can be attributed to the bias of the person making it. As such, objectivity was foremost on my mind while deciding what I felt represented the best of Australian Interiors. That is why I have selected a broad range of residential design themes and styles to display within this book. All have been on a case-by-case basis, created for the lifestyles and preferences of their owners, with all of them reflecting the Australian dynamic of individuality. Here we have showcased a vast variety of interiors from all over Australia. From Perth to Brisbane, we have given you a collection of projects that we hope will inspire you to craft a design that will suit your lifestyle mantra. Through these pages I encourage you to look deeply into the spaces displayed, in order to admire the art form that is interior design and decoration. Take the time to examine the details of the designer’s direction. For instance, our first article depicts a multi-award winning project by Multiplicity, an architectural firm. In this, their Daylesford project, they have taken the empty shell of a heritage church and used it as a blank canvas to go totally beyond our traditional living style. In this space, an innovative mindset was employed to create something that truly deserves the title of ‘the best’. Interior Design science has been applied to all of these projects. See if you can get inside the mind of the designer or decorator by taking a keen look at the intricate features presented. I hope this provides you with an enjoyable and inspiring experience, one that leads you to develop your own project worthy of the description ‘the best’. Gary Takle - Editor |
